Laser head with a 60W laser and LASCON

The ILPH (Intelligent Laser Processing Head) is a direct-beam laser processing head with an integrated LASCON closed-loop process controller, including a pyrometer and camera, and is available with an optional ring light source and wire feed.

  • 60W laser power
  • Minimum spot diameter: 0.2 mm
  • Integrated infrared pyrometer and process camera
  • Pyrometer and process camera coaxial with the laser beam
  • 24 V power supply
  • Communication via Ethernet with LASCON Process Manager software

Information

Laser systems and laser processing heads can usually only be integrated into machinery and equipment by specialists. Handling fibre-optic cables is critical. The ILPH is a complete laser processing system, including a diode laser (60W),LASCON® process controller , pyrometer, camera, optional wire feed controller and ring light source – all integrated into a single unit.
The ILPH can be mounted directly onto a machine axis.
The ILPH requires only two cables: 24V and Ethernet fieldbus (optionally EtherCAT)

  • Laser power up to 60W
  • Wavelength 978 nm, others on request
  • Laser spot diameter down to 200 µm
  • Easy to integrate into machines and systems via digital and analogue I/Os – > LASCON
  • Easily integrable laser safety
  • Bus connection: Ethernet or, optionally, EtherCAT
  • Integrated high-speed pyrometer with 10,000 measurements per second
  • Temperature measurement range typically from 120°C, optionally from 70°C
  • Integrated process controller for closed-loop control with 10,000 control steps per second
  • Software package for process control: LASCON Process Controller
  • Software package for video camera: LASCON Camera Manager
  • 256 programmable laser process scripts
  • Data storage
  • Data export to the hard drive of a production server
  • Power supply: 24 V, 8 A max

The ILPH intelligent laser processing head is an ideal tool for integrating laser brazing into machines and systems.

All you need is the ILPH and a few cables (2, 3). With these components, you can get started straight away with laser brazing using pyrometer control. Thanks to the high brilliance, even extremely small laser spots with diameters as small as 100 µm can be achieved.

Other applications include laser plastic welding, laser heating and other laser processes.

The products presented here are classified as Laser Class 4. The laser must only be operated in an environment that complies with national and international safety regulations.

Due to their compact design, all the laser-related technical components are integrated into the process chamber. This makes it relatively straightforward to set up Category 1 laser systems.
