The Mergenthaler Solution
- Mergenthaler is a renowned supplier of components and systems for laser substrate heating, based on unique diode laser systems. Mergenthaler’s laser processing heads enable the target temperature to be measured using non-contact, high-speed infrared pyrometers arranged coaxially with the laser beam. Coaxial monitoring of the process via a video camera is also included
- We offer pyrometertemperature ranges typically from 100°C up to 2500°C in various ranges, with 10,000 temperature measurements per second. Using the powerful LASCON Process Manager software, the user can programme complex temperature curves to be executed by the closed-loop controller. It is also possible to create your own software GUI using the Mergenthaler TCP/IP command manual. Your personal creativity is fully supported
The laser is an ideal component, particularly for vacuum heating:
- No contamination of the vacuum thanks to contactless heating and contactless temperature control – a laser head outside the vacuum processes the target through a glass window
- Higher heating rates and temperatures than with conductive heating, with virtually any temperature profile
- Distance between the target and the laser head up to 500 mm
- Variable spot geometries , typicallyranging from 3×3 mm up to 15×15 mm
- Specialised spot homogenisation and shaping to convert the Gaussian laser beam into flat, homogeneous squares, rectangles, hexagons, octagons… for improved temperature homogeneity on the target
